This blog is a true labor of love. I'm not making a dime from it; it is just my tribute to a great line of Black and Tan coon hounds. I had most of this information up as a website a few years ago, but since I find blogging much easier and enjoyable these days, here it all is again in it's simpler form.
I will be adding some other fun things such as old ads on our Black and Tans of the past soon. This section was very popular on my website and I want to do it again--history is such an important thing to our breed.
I was lucky enough to get to hunt with Gr. Nt. Ch. Tennessee Fiddler (and Gt. Nt. Ch. TN. Judge) back in 1981. And I was even luckier to own and hunt with many of Fiddler's offspring, all who were outstanding hounds in their own right.
In 2001, I owned a line-bred double great-grandson of Fiddler that I called Rocket 88 (a grandson of both Fiddler's Masterpiece and Tennessee Temptation III). He was making quite a hound when killed at a very young age. I don't own a Fiddler bred hound at the moment but would love to again. I am looking for litter mates or full brothers or sisters to my Rocket dog. They would be about 8 , almost 9 years old now. If you have them or know if them, please email me at my88rocket@gmail.com You can find Rocket's pedigree under "Categories" to see if you have a match.
I love this strain of Black and Tans and this is my way of always keeping them alive. If you like what you see, leave a comment and let me know. I have given credit on all photos and articles wherever I can. All copyright rests of course with the original owners.
If you have any information to add on any of these dogs or if I need to make corrections, please feel free to e-mail me. I want this to be a correct history of this fine strain of Black and Tans and would appreciate your input.
